Molly Jo Blankenship

Molly Jo Blankenship is a native of Oklahoma with an Agriculture degree from OSU. After completing homeschool with her two sons in 2008 Molly took up watercolor painting to fill her time. She is the newest member of Focal Point Studio as well as a member of Green Country Watercolor Society (GCWS) and Bartlesville Art Association (BAA). Molly’s art education is through independent study supplemented by art workshops with Pat Weaver, Sterling Edwards, Ken Hosmer, Betty Shaw, Carol Cooper, Marlene Gremillion and Mike Bailey.

Molly leans toward a realistic style painted with transparent watercolor that invite the viewer into warm, happy scenes. She finds inspiration in all of God’s creation. Whenever she feels overwhelmed by life's challenges and responsibilities, she simply remembers one of her favorite bible verses. Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

Her work has won numerous awards at the Tulsa County Free Fair, including two GCWS watercolor awards and Best of Show. She also won Honorable Mentions from the 2011 & 2013 GCWS Member Shows, 2013 Merit Award from BAA Spring Show and several ribbons from the 2013 Route 66 Art Show and 2013-14 Verdigris Valley Art Shows. Molly has been fortunate to display her work in many places throughout Oklahoma, Kansas and Arkansas.
